How to: Check Transactions on the POS in Statement Calculation
To calculate statement at the Store
This functionality lets the store manager verify that all transactions on the POS are actually present when the statement is calculated. This is done in the Statement Calculation process. A comment is inserted into the Statement Comment table, if there are Transactions missing from the POS.
Note: This only applies if the Closing method at the store is by POS Terminals.
To activate
- The Functionality Profile must be the same for HO and Stores.
- The Store server (or Head Office server) must be able to connect to the POS via Transaction Server: select the Check for Missing Transactions field in the Functionality Profile(s) that is used at the store or POS.
When the statement is calculated:
- The system finds the functionality profile for each POS or Terminal; if you do not choose a POS or Terminal, the Statement Calculation will use the Functionality Profile from Store.
- The statement will then get the Distribution Location for the POS or Terminal (according to store database), and check if the Active for Replication field on the Replication FastTab is selected.
- If Active for Replication has been selected, the Data Director will get the latest transactions from the POS or Terminal.
To calculate statement at the Store
The system compares the highest Transaction No at the local database against the highest Transaction No in the POS Terminal’s database using Transaction Server.
If there are transactions missing on one or more POS Terminals, a page is displayed showing which POS Terminals these are and the user gets the opportunity to abort the calculation process.
When all issues are solved the calculation completes without errors.
