Planned Sales Demand
The Planned Sales Demand is used when LS Replenishment calculates the Replenishment Journal for an item and the Replenishment Calculation Type is set to Average Usage, Manual Estimate, or LS Forecast.
Planned Sales Demand lets you set up a planned future sales demand for an item in a store for a specific date. This Planned Sales Demand will be used and calculated on top of the replenishment quantity suggested by the journal.
This can be used for special events, as these events may not be seasonal and the Replenishment Forward Sales Profile takes them into effect.
For Replenishment Calculation Type Average Usage, Manual Estimate, or LS Forecast, during the replenishment calculation, the system calculates the required Stock Cover Days and tries to look for the Planned Sales Demand records defined within that stock cover period.
If Stock Coverage Days Profile is used, the Stock Cover Days is dynamically calculated based on the next replenishment calculation day, and the parameters as defined in the Replen. Coverage Days Profile.
If Stock Coverage Days Profile is not used, the system will use the Wareh Stock Cover Reqd (Days) field or the Store Stock Cover Reqd (Days) field as the required Stock Cover Days, based on the replenishment journal type.
This means, for example, that if the Store Stock Cover (Days) is 10, the period, during which the system looks for Planned Sales Demand records, starts tomorrow and ends 10 days later. If the system finds Planned Demand records during this period for the item and the store, it uses this information to update the System Suggested Quantity during the replenishment journal calculation.
If Lead Time Calculation is enabled for the item, the Stock Coverage Period is shifted to start a day after the stock arrives instead (after the Lead Time Coverage Period).
Example:
Today is 18.06.2019
Item 40000 has the Store Stock Cover Days of 10.
The Manual Estimated Daily Sale is 5.
Item 40000 has 10 Replenishment Planned Sales Demand records starting from Date 13.06.2019 until 22.06.2019 with Planned Demand Type Substitute Quantity and a Planned Demand of 20 per day.
During the calculation, system will looks for Planned Sales Demand records from 19.06.2019 until 28.06.2019.
The result of the replenishment system calculations:
Result without Planned Sales Demand | Result with Planned Sales Demand | |
---|---|---|
19.06.2019 | 5 | 20 |
20.06.2019 | 5 | 20 |
21.06.2019 | 5 | 20 |
22.06.2019 | 5 | 20 |
23.06.2019 | 5 | 5 |
24.06.2019 | 5 | 5 |
25.06.2019 | 5 | 5 |
26.06.2019 | 5 | 5 |
27.06.2019 | 5 | 5 |
28.06.2019 | 5 | 5 |
Total | 50 | 110 |
Thus, considering the Planned Sales Demand, the System Suggested Quantity is updated to 110 instead of being 50.
Note: If Vendor Lead Time is considered and the Vendor Lead Time is 2 days, the coverage period will be shifted and the system will look for Planned Sales Demand records from 21.06.2019 until 30.06.2019.
