How to: Calculate Stock Coverage
Stock Coverage is a functionality which enables users to calculate how long a store is able to continue selling items or groups of items given a sales history and inventory. A Coverage Goal (weeks) can be set up in the Stock Coverage page per item category or product group, as well as for a specific season. When the Stock Coverage is set up for a specific season, its Ending Date follows the ending date for that season and the Coverage Goal (weeks) is then automatically calculated. The Calculate Stock Coverage functionality will update the Actual (weeks) and Coverage % information based on the Eff. Inventory and Coverage Goal (weeks), and make these information available to the users in the Stock Coverage page and Stock Coverage report. The Eff. Inventory field shows the inventory of the items, which may include the quantities from Sales, Purchase or Transfer Orders, depending on the setup in the Stock Coverage and Store Capacity FastTab, in Replenishment Setup. The calculation can be performed manually in the Stock Coverage page, or automatically with a Scheduler Job.
To calculate Stock Coverage on the Stock Coverage page:
- Click the icon, enter Store Coverage, and select the relevant link.
- Click the Calculate Coverage action.
Note: The Last Time Calculated field indicates the date and time of the last Calculate Coverage process performed, either by the Calculate Coverage action in the Store Coverage page, or the Scheduler Job.
To calculate Stock Coverage with Scheduler Job:
- Click the icon, enter Scheduler Job List, and select the relevant link.
- Select and open the Scheduler Job with Job ID REPLEN-STOCKCOVERAGE, which is already setup with the Calculate Stock Coverage (10012323) report, the object responsible for performing the Stock Coverage calculation. Alternatively, if you wish to create a new scheduler job, you may assign the report to the job with the Object Type and Object No. fields.
- Fill in the Scheduler Job Type Code field.
- Fill in the Time Units field.
- Fill in the Time Between Check field.
- Fill in the Starting Time field.
- Fill in the Ending Time field if needed.
Note: A ready NAS service is required to trigger and run the Scheduler Job.
