Setting Up Comment Categories
Comments can be assigned comment categories. They are an important tool to:
- group comments together.
- assign to comments a default priority.
- link attributes to comments (attributes function as predefined comment options).
- specify whether comments should be sent to the kitchen.
To set up comment categories
- Click the icon, enter Comment Categories, and select the relevant link.
- On a new line, in the Code field, enter a code for the category.
- In the Description field, enter a description of the category.
- In the Scope field, select the desired scope.
- In the Comment Priority field, select the desired comment priority.
- In the Include Cat. Descr. in Page Comment field, select At Start or At End, if you want to include the category description in the Comment field on pages that display the first comment line for the source. This is also used when total comments are displayed in a single column grid in the POS.
For example: The Public category has description Public which is used At Start of the comments. The Public comment Some Comment appears Public: Some Comment in the Comment field, if it is the first comment for the source. It appears like that also in the total comments grid in the POS.
The Occasion category has description Occasion that is used At End of the comments. The Occasion comment Birthday appears Birthday - Occasion in the Comment field if it is the first comment for the source. It appears like that also in the total comments grid in the POS.
- In the Kitchen Options field, select whether you want comments for this category to be sent to the kitchen. You can change the setting for the actual comments any time as long as the comment has not been sent to the kitchen.
When a KOT is created for an order, all comments (related ones also) with Kitchen Status To Be Sent and Sent are displayed/printed with the KOT.
- In the Attribute Code field, select an attribute you want to link to the comment category. Only link Option Value attributes.
