How to: Send Items to KDS when Added to Order

You can let the system display items on KDS display stations immediately after they are added to an order.

  1. Go to Hospitality Types.
  2. Edit the desired hospitality type.
  3. On the KDS FastTab, select On Item Added in the KDS Display/Printing field.

Note: If you select this option for a hospitality type, the items for an order are going to be added to the same KOT and will be displayed in chronological order on the KDS display stations. If you select another option for another hospitality type in the same restaurant and select to have items added to a new KOT on order modification, the items for this KOT are going to be displayed in production time order on the KDS display stations. You could end up with a mixture of the two methods on the display stations, unless you let the hospitality types use a different set of display stations and route items accordingly.

The system automatically selects:

  • Add Item to Same KOT in the On Modify Order field.
  • No in the Confirm send to KDS field.
  • Send All Items in the On POS Exit/Posting field.

With this option, Menu Type Usage cannot be Yes-Sent Manually to KDS or Yes-Sent Automatically to KDS-KOT per Menu Type.

Note: In the current version this method should not be used when item routing exists for printers.
