  1. Click Customer Service on the Actions menu in the Role Center.
  2. Insert the customer's SSN in the Customer ID field on the Customer Information FastTab, and press Enter.
    Note: The value in the Requested By field is set to Pharmacy Staff by default.
  3. Click e-Prescriptions on the Home actions menu to see electronic prescriptions that belong to this SSN.

    The Customer Prescriptions list shows all of the customer's prescriptions that are e-prescriptions. Here you can, for example, see the issuer's name and drugs that are partly paid by insurance in the Ins field. You can see when the next withdrawal is, the date when the prescription was made, and the last valid date. The red line means that it is not time yet to open the prescription and deliver the drug.

  1. Select a line, and click OK. The prescription is printed without delay.

A new page opens showing the drug in details for the pharmacist to read and to confirm that all the information is correct. The pharmacist verifies that the Issued Item and Delivered Item fields are identical.
Note: The delivered item can be changed to a substitution, if one is available. See How to: Substitute With Generic Drugs for more details.

The Dose / Withdrawals FastTab is the only editable FastTab when e-prescriptions are being processed. , except the Delivered Item field in the Issued Item & Delivered Item FastTab.

The fields in the Dose / Withdrawals FastTab are:

Field Description
Register Withdrawals Here you can change the number of withdrawals. For example, if the customer is going to withdraw twice in a row, you would type 2 in this field.
Withdrawal Interval Type Here you can change the type of the withdrawal interval. The options are:
  • Month
  • Week
  • Day
Withdrawal Interval Here you can change the withdrawal interval. The withdrawal interval tells how many days there should be between withdrawals.
Max. Daily Dose Here you can specify the maximum daily dose per day.
Daily Dose not Specified You select this check box if the maximum daily dose should not be specified.
Warning Text Here you can write a warning text, this text also comes from the issuer.
Purpose Text Here you can write a purpose text.
Prescription Order Dose Text Here you can re-write the dose text, if needed.

To finish an e-Prescription Order

The first step to finish an order is to mark the line(s) as picked: 

  1. Click Confirm on the Home action menu, and click Yes when the confirmation window appears. Note: The status of the line is now Reserved.
  2. Click Auto-Pick on the Home action menu, and click Yes when the confirmation window appears. Note: The status of the line is now Reserved and Picked.
  3. To approve the line, click Approve on the Home action menu. Note: The status of the line is now Approved and Picked.

The next step to finish the order: 

  1. Click Finish Order on the Home action menu.

As soon as the order has been finished, the order automatically goes to Final Control.

  1. Click the Final Control tile in the Role Center.
  2. Select the order, and double-click the line to open it.

In Final Control the pharmacist verifies that the order is correct.

  1. Click Confirm / Next on the Home action menu. If there are more than one Prescription Order Lines in the order, the system moves automatically to the next line to confirm.
  2. Click the Finish Order action. The order is moved to Approved Prescriptions Orders. You can access these orders by clicking the Approved Prescription Order tile in the Role Center.

After Final Control has been completed, the order is ready to be paid at the POS.

To finish an e-Prescription Order in POS

  1. Log in as a pharmacist in the POS.
  2. Select Customer Service on the Sales menu.
  3. Insert the customer'sSSN in the Identify prescription owner field on the Customer Information FastTab, and press Enter.
    Note: The identification type is set to Customer by default.
  4. Select Pharmacy Staff.
  5. Click E-prescriptions to see electronic prescriptions that belong to this SSN.

    The Customer Prescriptions list shows all of the customer's prescriptions that are e-prescriptions. Here you can, for example, see the issuer's name and drugs that are partly paid by insurance in the Ins field. You can see when the next withdrawal is, the date when the prescription was made, and the last valid date. The red line means that it is not time yet to open the prescription and deliver the drug.

  1. Select a line and click Download.

    The first step to finish an order is to mark the line(s) as picked:

  1. Click Confirm to confirm the prescription line. Note: The status of the line is now Reserved.
  2. Click Barcode Control, and select Auto-Pick on the pop-up menu, and click Yes when the confirmation window appears. Note: The status of the line is now Reserved and Picked.
  3. To approve the line, click Approve on the menu. Note: The status of the line is now Approved and Picked.

    The next step to finish the order:

  1. Click the Final Control tile in the menu.
  2. In Final Control the pharmacist verifies that the order is correct.
  3. Click Approve on the menu. If there are more than one Prescription Order Lines in the order, the system moves automatically to the next line to confirm. Note: All lines have to be approved, one by one, for the entire order to be counted as approved.
  4. Click either the Approve Order and to POS or Approve Order and Pay later action.

The order is now ready to be paid in the POS.
