How to: Create Prescription Profiles

The prescription profile includes general setup for the prescription, replacement of generics, prescription defaults, identifications, label logo, and label settings.

The prescription profile is linked to the prescription terminal on the Prescription Terminal card.

  1. Go to Departments - LS Retail - Pharmacy - Pharmacy Setup - Prescription
  2. In the Prescription Setup section, click Prescription Setup Profile.
  3. Click New on the Home action menu.
  4. Fill in the fields in the General FastTab:

    Field Description
    Code Here you type in a code for the prescription profile.
    Description Here you type in a description for the prescription profile.
    POS Prescriptions Active Internal use only.
    Open Prescription Here you select the view the prescription order should open in.

    The options are:

    • Document Style - opens in Prescription Order (10015351).
    • Prescription Details - opens in Prescription Order Line (10015353).
    • Details When Single - opens in Prescription Order (10015351) if there is only one line in the order. If the lines are two or more, the prescription opens in Prescription Order Line (10015353).
    Customer ePrescr. Activities Here you can specify in days when the customer's e-prescription activities should appear, for example: -30D
    Prompt for Original Doc. Type Select this check box, if a prescription order is being manually created. In that case, a pop-up window appears asking what the original type of the prescription is, for example paper.
    Presc. Order No. Series Here you can select a number series for prescription orders.
    Emergency Presc. No. Series Here you can select a number series for emergency prescriptions.
    Phone Presc. No. Series Here you can select a number series for phone prescriptions.
    VAT Bus. Posting Group Here you select the posting group for the prescriptions, for example NATIONAL.
    Price Group Code Here you select the price group for the prescriptions, for example ALL. Note: Leaving this field empty equals all stores.
    Currency Code Here you can specify the default currency code to be used for price calculations. In cases where only one prescription profile is used for all terminals this field should be empty.
    Max days until Withdrawal Warn. Here you can define the maximum number of days until a withdrawal warning is displayed.
    Use Ctrl. Label Barcode Select this check box, if you want the system to print out the item barcode on the label instead of the product number.
    Confirm Qty. From Open Pack Internal use only.
    Confirm New Prescription Order Select this check box, to display a confirmation window when a new prescription order is created.
    Require Document before Upload Select this check box, if you want the system to look in e-prescription documents before uploading the prescription.
    Use Pick Labels Select this check box, if you want the prescription order to use pick labels.
    Always print single Bag Label Select this check box, if you want the prescription order to print single bag labels.
    Assembly Cost Calculation Here you can specify the cost price if the product is a BOM recipe product.
    Assembly Price Calculation Here you can specify how the BOM product is priced.
    Filter Substitute By Internal use only.
  1. Fill in the fields in the Replacement FastTab:

    Field Description
    Select Generics Here you specify what the default option should be for the customer, whether generics should be selected, upon opening the Customer Service page .

    The options are:

    • Not Asked - the system does not ask for generics.
    • Yes (Exchange Where Possible) - the system automatically changes the delivered item to a substitute, if it exists.
    • No (Exchange Rejected).
    Primary Replacement Filter Here you can select a filter for replacement items. The filter determines the priority.

    The options are:

    • ATC + Strength + Form
    • Replacement Group
    • Substance + Strength + Form
    Qty. Range Type Here you can select the quantity by range type for the pharmacy item.

    The options are:

    • Higher and Lower - min and max values go into the filter
    • Only Lower - no upper values.
    Narcotics Qty. Range Type Here you can select the quantity by range type for the pharmacy item if the item is narcotic.

    The options are:

    • Higher and Lower - min and max values go into the filter.
    • Only Lower - no upper values.
    Qty. Filter Range Here you can define the difference in the quantity filter.
    Qty. Filter in Auto-Replace Select this check box, if the system should automatically replace this customer’s prescriptions with generics.
  1. Fill in the fields in the Prescription Defaults FastTab:

    Field Description
    Default Requested By Here you select the default Requested by on the Customer Service page. It determines if the pharmacy customer is prompted to show ID.

    The options are:

    • Customer - identification type for the pharmacy customer must be selected.
    • Delegate - identification type for the delegate has to be selected.
    • Pharmacy Staff - no identification is needed.
    Last Valid Date Calc. Here you specify when a paper prescription expires, for example 1Y.
    Phone - Last Valid Date Calc. Here you can define after how much time a phone prescription expires, for example: 10D
    Fax - Last Valid Date Calc. Here you can define after how much time a fax prescription expires, for example: 1Y
    Auto-populate Issue Date Select this check box, if you want the current date to appear automatically on prescriptions when they are created.
    Default Withdrawal Interval Type Here you can define the default withdrawal type for the prescriptions.

    The options are:

    • Month
    • Week
    • Day
    Prescriptions Shown Here you can define what e-prescriptions are visible by default when the e-prescription list is opened from the Customer Service page.

    The options are:

    • All - shows all prescriptions.
    • Active - shows only prescriptions that are active.
  1. Fill in the fields in the Identification FastTab:

    Field Description
    Identification Requested Select this check box, if you want the system to always ask for identification by default.
    Identification Timeout (min) Internal use only.
  1. Fill in the fields in the Label Logo FastTab:

    Field Description
    Logo Path in Flash Memory Here you type in the path for the logo if a logo should be printed on the label.
  1. Fill in the fields in the table in the Label Settings FastTab:

    Field Description
    Print Type Here you define the labels printed for the prescription orders.
    Label Type Here you select the label type for the print type.
    Filters Internal use only.
    Request Dialog Select this check box, to display a pop-up window asking if a label should be printed.
    Include in Print All Labels Select this check box, if you want the label line to offer to print all labels.
