The Forecourt for LS Central module adds a functionality to the LS Central POS to interact with fuel pumps in petrol stations, show status of pumps in a graphical way, and to finalize fuel sales.
The Forecourt functionality displays a ribbon at the top of the POS that communicates seamlessly with the pumps, and provides the POS user with a real-time overview of pump status and transactions on the pump. The Forecourt ribbon also provides some pump control from the POS, such as to stop and start pumps and to authorize pumps. Numerous types of fuel sales are supported, for example Post-pay where a fuel transaction is finalized after pumping, and Pre-pay where the fuel sale is paid in advance and the pump is pre-set to an amount or volume. The ribbon also supports identifying possible drive-off.
The POS with Forecourt interacts with the fuel pumps through the Hardware Station which connects to the forecourt controller, a connection hub to all the hardware (pumps, tanks, price signs) in a petrol station. The Hardware Station needs an implementation to be able to connect to the forecourt controller. The Hardware Station has implementations for a few types of forecourt controllers, but if an implementation does not exist for a specific forecourt controller type, the POS cannot connect to the pumps and an implementation needs to be done in an integration project.
