To create a hierarchy

  1. Click the icon, enter Hierarchy, and select the relevant link.
  2. Then click the New or Edit List action.

The following options are available for a hierarchy:

Option Description
Hierarchy Code The unique name of the hierarchy.
Description The name or description of the hierarchy.
Type A hierarchy can be one of three types:
  • Item/Deal - a hierarchy containing links to items and deals (like a menu structure).
  • Vendor - a hierarchy containing links to vendors.
  • Store/Warehouse Loc./Customer - a hierarchy containing links to Stores, Store Groups, Warehouse Locations, Customers, and Customer Groups.
Has Attributes If this check box is selected, then default attributes have been selected to be displayed in the Hierarchy Viewer page. To select attributes, click the Hierarchy Attributes action. This can also be changed directly in the Hierarchy Viewer page.
Link Only Once If this check box is selected, each link can only exist in a single node in the hierarchy; otherwise, the link can exist everywhere.
Link Free Location If this check box is selected, a link can be placed everywhere in the hierarchy; otherwise, the link can only exist on leaves.
Hide on POS Specifies whether this hierarchy is shown on the POS.

Note:

  • The Hierarchy Attributes action lets you select attributes to enable filtering of items that are to be present in a hierarchy.
  • The Edit Hierarchy action opens a page where you can maintain Hierarchy Nodes and Links.
  • The Copy Hierarchy action lets you copy a hierarchy to a new hierarchy. You are prompted for the name of the new hierarchy.

Item/Deal Hierarchies

Once you have set up hierarchies with the Item/Deal type, they can be used for clienteling, web stores, web templates, and self service.

You need to assign these hierarchies to each store where they are used.
