Periodic Activities
There are three types of processes available in Member Management to run checks and perform maintenance on the member accounts. Click Periodic Activities to see the three processes under Tasks:
Member Upgrade/Downgrade
This is a process that checks all active member accounts in the system to see if an account should be upgraded or downgraded to a different scheme.
The process checks
- the account’s date in the Next Check for Update field.
- the setup of the Account’s Scheme and Club.
- when the account fulfills the requirements, and then the process either upgrades or downgrades the account's scheme.
Note: An account can be moved two steps at a time; that is, the account's scheme can change from Bronze directly to Gold.
Use the Period Calc for Up-/Downgrade field on the Point Calculation FastTab, the Member Club card, to specify how often the Upgrade/Downgrade function should run. The function then checks with the parameters on the Member Schemecard's Upgrade FastTab to find out if and when an account should be moved to another scheme and what the point limits are for upgrades or downgrades.
The Member Account Statistics FactBox on the Member Accounts card shows the balance and other member points details for the selected member account.
Expire Member Point Entries
Use this process to close all expired member point entries in a single action. The system inserts an expiry entry (the current date) and applies it to all expired member point entries.
You will be asked to confirm that you wish to post expiration entries to apply all member point entries with expiration earlier than today.
The column Closed by Points in the Member Point Entries should now show the expired member points.
Update Member Information
Use this process to update member information from POS transactions. When POS sales are posted, the member information is saved in the Transaction Register on the POS and must be transferred from there. Entries created through this process are:
- Member Point Entries
- Attribute Entries
- Member Sales Entries.
Usually, this process is run by the Scheduler, but you can also run it manually from Periodic Activities.
