Number of Journal Lines in the POS
Data Tables:
- Are the base for the Journal in the POS; set with the Interface Profile.
- Are connected with Data Grids which are part of the Interface Profile.
- Are connected to the Lookups which are part of the Interface Profile.
- Define the content of Record Zooms to view/edit individual records in the system.
- Each Data Table can be used in multiple Lookups and/or Record Zooms.
- Do have some setup possibilities.
- Include a list of columns where each column has a Field No. from the Table in use.
- Each POS Data Table Column has its own setup.
To open data tables
- Click the icon, enter POS Data Table List, and select the relevant link.

Tip: The field Table Rows on the General FastTab identifies number of rows that are displayed in the POS when a function using this data table is used. One exception of this is in the POS Journal, where this value in the data table can be overwritten by a setting in the Interface Profile.
Journal Data Table
The control and layout of the Journal Lines are set up as Data Table and then the Data Table is assigned to the Interface Profile. This way it is possible to have Interface Profiles set up with different Data Tables.
There are some Journal Data Tables set up in the Demo Data Company and these are used by different Interface Profiles.
The Data Table assigns the Table and sets up the columns that are used.

Number of Journal Lines in the POS
The Interface Profile has a value for the Number of Journal lines and this value overwrites the number of Table Rows from the Data Table:
Data Table Columns - Example
With the columns in the Data Table connected to the data grid control, the columns for the data grid are defined.
In the data table columns it is possible to define:
- The data in each column; data table's field number
- The text for the columns name
- Column's alignment
- Column's size
- And more.
Note: For certain data tables, such as the journal data tables, you can assign a POS command to a data table column. This is a great benefit for the POS, if you assign commands to the columns the need for buttons on the POS decreases.
Note: It is even possible to assign the command MENU to a column and by that have many different commands accessible by one selection.
