You can apply discounts to reservations through the Hotel Rate Discounts page. These discounts can be applied to specific properties, rate codes, room types, member clubs, or member schemes for specific periods and with various criteria such as length of stay or days booked in advance.

A customer discount for the hotel rate must be assigned to the accommodation item specified in the hotel setup or rate code. All activities and items included in the rate get the hotel rate and customer discounts.

To create new discount settings

1. Click the icon, enter Hotel Rate Discounts, and select the relevant link.
2. Click the New action, and fill in the fields.

Field	Description
Source Type	Select the level the discount is applied to: Property, Rate Code, Room Type, Member Club, or Member Scheme.
Source ID	Provides a list of selected Source Types.
Discount Type	Select the type of discount to apply: Percentage, Amount, or Free nights.
Value	Select value for the discount type: number of percentages, amount per night, or number of free nights.
Description	The text in Description is displayed in a banner in New Reservation, if the discount is applied based on the criteria.
Enabled	Toggle to activate discount.
Advance Booking (Days)	Number of days between the booking date and the arrival date to activate the discount.
Length of Stay	Minimum number of nights needed to activate the discount.
Season	Set up a custom date range where the discount is active.
Date From	Set up the starting date range for the discount stay period.
Date To	Set up the ending date range for the discount stay period.
All Days	Select if the discount should be bookable on all days of the week (All Days) or on specific weekdays. Toggle to enable.
Booking Date (From)	Set up the starting period for when the discount booking can be booked.
Booking Date (To)	Set up the ending period for when the discount booking can be booked.

To add discount on new reservations

The Discounts action in the Price Builder Lines FastTab on the New Reservation page has three sub-actions: Select Discount, Reset Discount, and Disable Discount.

• Click Select Discount to display a list of available discounts that can be applied to the row.
• The Reset Discount action applies the best available rate discount to the row.
• Use Disable Discount to apply the price without using any discounts.

The Price Builder Lines have two fields that can be modified: Amount and Line Discount %.

• An Amount change does change the unit price, but the original unit price is unchanged.
• A Line Discount % change is a manual discount. To remove all discounts, set this value to 0.

The price change and manual discounts have a higher priority than Hotel Rate Discounts or Customer Discounts. So if a price change or a manual discount is applied, other discounts are ignored, and only by removing the price change or manual discounts are other discounts enabled.

To find Hotel Rate Discount information in confirmed reservations

1. Navigate to the Hotel Reservation card.
2. Click the Related action, then Discount List. This shows the hotel rate discount that was applied during the booking process.
3. Click Rate or Total Charges in the FactBox in the Hotel Reservation Card to see a Discount Comment and Discount Type as "Hotel Rate" on each line in the Detailed Revenue Entry List, showing the discount applied per night.

To modify discounts in confirmed

If you modify the reservation date, rate code, or room type, or upgrade a room, the Rate Change page opens. Here all price changes are managed and the available discounts are applied to the reservation.

You can change discounts manually on the Invoice Management page. You can modify the unit price and line discount percentage in the Revenue Entries row, or use the Revenue Entries discount actions to modify selected rows.
