Upgrading Self-Service Kiosk to Version 24

The upgrade process

If you have been using the Self-Service Kiosk in versions prior to version 24, the upgrade process creates new self service kiosk profiles based on the Web Template Image Line table. In this table, the images were set up in general, per restaurant (store), or per POS terminal.

The upgrade codeunit SSK Upgrade Functions creates as many profiles as needed, and assigns them to restaurants and POS terminals as it can best do. It deletes no data in the process, so all your web template texts and images and translations are intact.

Actions needed:

You must examine the setup after upgrading to make sure that the profiles are correct and assigned to the correct restaurants and POS terminals.
New image types have been added in version 24. You may want to update your images.
You can create new profiles from the upgraded ones to use your own naming for the profiles.
More text types have been added in version 24. Use the Insert Text Types action on the Self Service Kiosk Profile Texts page to let the program insert the missing text types. Then enter Text Values for these added text types.

Translations

Translations are not affected by the upgrade and no upgrade process is performed on the translations for the kiosk.

The Web Template Text table has been replaced with the Self Service Kiosk Profile Text table, and this new table needs to be translated as well, if you translated the Web Template Text table.

Actions needed:

You must go through the data translation setup to add the Self Service Profile Text table. When you export the translations to an Excel file, you can copy your original Web Template Text table translations to the new Self Service Kiosk Profile Text table.
Note: You must do this per profile created.
