How to: Set Up a Unit of Measure

This setup is used to specify which unit of measure is automatically selected for each line in the worksheet journal. Available unit types in Pharmacies:

To create a Pharmacy Unit of Measure

  1. Click the icon, enter Pharmacy Unit of Measure, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click the New action, and fill in the fields:
    FieldDescription
    CodeHere you enter a name for the code, for example K.
    DescriptionHere you write a description of the code, for example Kilogram.
    Short DescriptionHere you can write a short description of the code, for example Kg.
    Qty. UnitIf the Pharmacy Unit of Measure is a Qty. Unit, click the line in the Qty. Unit column, and select the appropriate Quantity Unit of Measure.
    Strength UnitIf the Pharmacy Unit of Measure is a Strength Unit, click the line in the Strength Unit column, and select the appropriate Strength Unit of Measure.
    Dose UnitIf the Pharmacy Unit of Measure is a Dose Unit, click the line in the Dose Unit column, and select the appropriate Dose Unit of Measure.

To create a Quantity Unit of Measure

  1. Click the icon, enter Quantity Unit of Measure, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click the New action, and fill in the fields:

    CodeHere you enter a name for the code, for example PCS.
    DescriptionHere you write a description of the code, for example PCS.
    Short DescriptionHere you can write a short description of the code, for example Pieces.

To create a Strength Unit of Measure

  1. Click the icon, enter Strength Unit of Measure, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click the New action, and fill in the fields:
    FieldDescription
    CodeHere you enter a name for the code, for example ML.
    DescriptionHere you write a description of the code, for example ML.
    Short DescriptionHere you can write a short description of the code, for example Milliliters.

To create a Dose Unit of Measure

  1. Click the icon, enter Strength Unit of Measure, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click the New action, and fill in the fields:

    CodeHere you enter a name for the code, for example UN, that stands for Unit.
    DescriptionHere you write a description of the code, for example Unit.
    Short DescriptionHere you can write a short description of the code.
