State Code and Location Code

In the context of GST (Goods and Services Tax) in India, the state code and location code are used to identify different states and specific locations for tax purposes.

  • GST State Code: This is a two-digit code used to identify the state in which the transaction occurs. For example, Delhi: 07.
  • Location Code: This is a code assigned to a specific location or place of business within a state. It is used to further identify the place of supply within the state.

To add the state code to your store in LS Central IN:

  1. Click the icon, enter Store List and select the relevant link.
  2. Open the store to which you want to add the state code.
  3. In the General FastTab, enter the State Code. This code defines the state of the store and will be copied onto all sales transactions of that store.

  4. Add the Location Code for each store and the State Code for the assigned location. Each store should have a unique location code.
