How to: Assign Variant Weight Curve to Variant Framework

The Variant Weight Curve can be used to calculate and maintain the Variant Weight by updating the Default Variant Weight in Variant Base Values and Variant Values of Variant Framework.

There are several pages where you can assign and update the Default Variant Weight with Variant Weight Curve:

To assign Variant Weight Curve to Variant Framework Base Values

  1. Click the icon, enter Variant Framework Base Values, and select the relevant link.
  2. Select a base Dimension, and assign a Variant Weight Curve to the selected base Dimension.
  3. Click Actions - Variant Weight - Update Variant Weight. The Default Variant Weight on the Variant Base Values FastTab will be updated with the Weight defined in Variant Weight Curve.

To assign Variant Weight Curve to Variant Framework

  1. Click the icon, enter Variant Framework Codes Setup, and select the relevant link.
  2. Select a Framework Code.
  3. Click the Combinations action to open the Variant Framework page.
  4. On the General FastTab, select a Variant Dimension and assign it with a Variant Weight Curve Code.
  5. Click Actions - Variant Weight - Update Variant Weight. The Default Variant Weight on the Variant Values FastTab will be updated with the Weight defined in Variant Weight Curve.

To assign Variant Weight Curve to Item Variant Framework

  1. Click the icon, enter Retail Item List, and select the relevant link.
  2. Click Manage - View to open the Retail Item Card for an item with a Variant Framework Code.
  3. Click Master Data - Variant Framework.
  4. On the Item Variant Framework page, select a Variant Dimension and assign it with a Variant Weight Curve Code.
  5. Click Actions - Variant Weight - Update Variant Weight. The Default Variant Weight in the Variant Values FastTab will be updated with the Weight defined in Variant Weight Curve.

To update Variant Weight for multiple Variant Frameworks

You can also update the Default Variant Weight for all Variant Frameworks that have dimensions assigned with a specific Variant Weight Curve at once.

  1. Click the icon, enter Variant Weight Curves, and select the relevant link.
  2. Select an existing Variant Weight Curve to open the Variant Weight Curve page.
  3. On the Variant Weight Curve Lines FastTab, enter the Weight, or use the Calculate Weight function to update the weights for all lines based on the items' historical sales.
  4. Click Variant Weight - Update Variant Weight.
  5. There are two options for updating the Default Variant Weight:
    • Item Variant Framework - Updates the Default Variant Weight for all Item Variant Frameworks that have dimensions assigned with the selected Variant Weight Curve.
    • Variant Framework Base Values; Variant Framework; and Item Variant Framework - Updates the Default Variant Weight for all Variant Framework Base Values, Variant Frameworks, and Item Variant Frameworks that have dimensions assigned with the selected Variant Weight Curve.
  6. Select an option and click OK.
  7. Click Yes when prompted for confirmation. The system will then complete the update.
