Scanner

Scanner or barcode scanner is an OPOS device that can be used to scan items to sell in the POS, and to scan employee, customer, and member cards into the POS.

To use this device in LS Central, the device needs to be added to the Hardware Profile. You can add the device automatically through the Detect Hardware functionality on the Hardware Profile.
You can configure the functionality of the Scanner in the POS Scanner card in LS Central. When the device is added automatically through the Hardware Profile, all configurations are set with default values.
To configure a barcode to represent an employee, a customer, and so on, the barcode mask needs to be set to the correct prefix. To view the barcode prefixes configured by default or to create your own, go to the Barcode Mask Setup page in LS Central.
Some of the configurations for this device are specific to the POS Functionality Profile and can be found in the Staff & Logon section on the Profile card in LS Central.
