Serial Device

The Serial device is different from all the other devices in Hardware Station in that it does not have any default functionality in LS Central to use its functionality.

In order to use a Serial device in any functionality (other than as a Dallas Key), for example to log a user onto the POS using a RFID device or to use it as a fiscal device, a codeunit needs to be customized by an LS Retail Partner. The codeunit must also be selected in the POS Serial Device Card in LS Central, and often a customized implementation in the Hardware Station is also required.
