This article contains information about the setup and use of the KDS system in Hospitality.
To benefit the most from the instructions, we recommended that:
- the user is familiar with the Hospitality system.
The Kitchen Display System is an advanced kitchen production system. It is designed for use in casual dining and fine dining.
System highlights:
- While orders are being processed in the kitchen, the Hospitality POS is updated with process information.
- Display Stations are set.
- Display stations can also be printers.
- Possibility to activate a different configuration depending on the restaurant’s or hospitality type's load.
- The Kitchen service constantly pulls data from the KDS Web Service to send between POS and the Kitchen service.
- The Kitchen service can access information from Business Central in the Cloud/SaaS with OAuth authentication.
- Users have full control of the process.

Term | Description |

KS | Kitchen Server |
DS | Display Station |
KOT | Kitchen Order Ticket |
Order/Transaction | Order in Hospitality is also a transaction. An order of food items makes up a Hospitality transaction. |
Expeditor | A display station that shows the whole KOT, and when bumped, indicates that the order has been served to the guest. |
Preparation Station | A display station that shows ordered items as lines. The line can be started and bumped to indicate the progress of preparation of the item. |
